    Description

This coin is an 1854 1/2 Penny from the United Kingdom, copper in composition.  The obverse of this coin is of a young Queen Victoria and the edge of the coin is a plain edge.  Weight of the coin is9.45 grams and a diameter of approximately 28 mm.  The reverse of the coin is of the seated Britannia facing right, holding a trident in her left hand and her right hand on a shield.  The bottom is of a rose, thistle, and shamrock.  The mintage was around 12 million.   It is difficult to fathom that this one half penny is in this kind of condition after 165 years, but check out the detail, the high ridges and  luster still remaining.  There is a beautiful slight toning on this coin that I hope show through to you.  Thanks for looking!!
