Letter autographed by Senator Hale of Maine in 1928, and one on same subject from Pensions Commissioner Winfield Scott.  On behalf of Mrs. Amy Ford of Searsport, Maine, whose husband appears to have died in WW1.  Envelope franked by Hale as well.
