From my anti-slavery collection, I offer this late 1700s farthing size copper token made in England during the movement to outlaw slavery. Obverse has a likeness of Adam & Eve with legend around MAN OVER MAN HE MADE NOT LORD. The reverse has a fierce looking pig with a Liberty Cap above with rays. The pig is trampling upon implements of royalty. Legend around PIGS MEAT PUBLISHED BY T. SPENCE LONDON. Spence was an outspoken advocate for the rights of man including the abolition of slavery. And for the rights of children as well. Was jailed several times for his liberal views. A great anti-slavery token for your collection. Would go well with my am I not a man and brother which I also have listed now.
