    Description

Edward VII 1907 Farthing - NGC MS-64 BN
Great Britain farthing, Edward VII 1907
. All British farthings from 1898-1918 were blackened at the mint, ostensibly to prevent their being confused with gold half sovereigns. The practice was discontinued in 1918 as the mint had ceased the production of half sovereigns after 1915. Original examples are difficult to locate as the black finish tended to wear quickly. Graded Mint State 64 Brown by NGC.
