HIS NEBRASKA FOOTBALL HISTORY IS LEGENDARY !!
Mr. Nielsons signatures are quite scarce if they are to be found anywhere (except in perhaps the LOC or Nebraska Universities archives) My first Nielson document sold for .00 twelve years ago!!! So Please do not waste our time by comparing my full documents & replies from the Honorable Bainbridge Colby with clip signature's or signed photos as they are not in the same category as what I am offering by any means.
I was lucky enough to find the few I had as a child and hope that the significance of the dual importance of this man in Americas early 1900's can be saved and enjoyed forever in family or a collectors private archives. The tales these men spoke about are of such significance it is nice to know that others like myself will honor and treasure each one for its possible deeper messages that another collector/historian may be able to provide a potential consequence of this meeting spoken of may have had even making their value greater.

President Wilson
appointed Nielsen as the Solicitor of the State Department, the department's chief legal officer. Nielsen resigned from that position in 1922, and later that year,

NEWEST RESEARCH INFO ADDED--
Fred Kenelm Nielsen
(April 22, 1879 – January 12, 1963) was a
Danish-American
lawyer, diplomatic official, and
college football
coach. Nielsen served as the head football coach at the Maryland Agricultural College (now known as the
University of Maryland
) from 1905 to 1906, the
George Washington University
from 1907 to 1908,
Georgetown University
from 1910 to 1911, and the
Catholic University of America
from 1915 to 1916. Nielsen was born in Slagelse, Denmark on April 22, 1879. He emigrated to Omaha, Nebraska with his parents the following year. Nielsen attended the University of Nebraska, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1902 and a LL. B. in 1904. During college, he played on the Cornhuskers football team as a halfback, and earned a varsity letter in 1900.
Nielsen started his career with the United States Department of State in 1904.
]
In 1905, the Maryland Agricultural College (now the University of Maryland) hired Nielsen as its head football coach. He replaced its previous coach, D. John Markey, who had quit after the school denied an increase to the job's 0 salary. Nielsen tolerated the low pay, however, because of his full-time job with the State Department. During his two years at Maryland, the Aggies posted an 11–7 record.
He continued coaching college football part-time in the Washington area. From 1907 to 1908, Nielsen was the head coach at the George Washington University. In his first year there, the Hatchetites posted a poor 2–5–1 record, but improved to 9–1–1 the following season, which was enough to clinch the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SAIAA) championship. Nielsen then coached at Georgetown University from 1910 to 1911. In that period, his teams posted a 14–2–2 record and outscored their opponents 438–57. Georgetown's losses came at the hands of undefeated, untied, and unscored upon Pittsburgh and the Carlisle Indians led by Jim Thorpe. Georgetown secured the SAIAA championship both years of Nielsen's tenure. At the same time, Nielsen studied at the Georgetown University Law School, and received a Master of Law degree in 1906.
In 1913, Nielsen was named the Assistant Solicitor of the Department of State. In 1914, he was assigned as a plenipotentiary during discussions in Christiania, Norway of a Spitsbergen government. As the assistant solicitor, Nielsen did not intend to continue coaching, but in 1915, the Catholic University of America implored him to take over its ailing football program. He helmed the Cardinals from 1915 to 1916, and compiled a 9–6 record.
In 1918, Nielsen served in the United States Army until Armistice and attained the rank of major. He represented the United States at the 1919 Paris Peace Conference, and was the primary American representative in a commission re-examining Belgian treaty obligations of 1839. Nielsen served on the committee that decided the sovereignty of the Spitsbergen archipelago. On June 23, 1920, President Wilson appointed Nielsen as the Solicitor of the State Department, the department's chief legal officer. In 1931, he resigned from that post "in disgust" at the actions of some of the Mexican and Panamanian delegates.
Nielsen died on January 12, 1963.

INFO ON THE HONORABLE BAINBRIDGE COLBY
Up for auction are the items shown in the scans. The Honorable Bainbridge Colby- (Woodrow Wilsons last Secretary of State and Mark Twains lawyer, as well as the man who ratified the 19th amendment which gave woman the right to vote !!!, I have seen on the net that Mr. Colbys autograph alone has sold for between .00 and .00. And since carbon relies of the era did not come with signatures I have decided to add a check and signature so as to add a direct provenance to your acquisition. . He was a gentleman who helped shape the U.S. Political foreign affairs during the 1920's - 1940's. I grew up in his hometown and the caretaker for the family estate called Little Brook Farm, at Sunset Bay, near Bemus Point. The Colby family farms caretaker after Mr. Colbys death in 1950 and Mrs. Colbys death in 1963 was my Sunday school teacher (Mr Sydney Taylor) in the Maple Springs Interdenominational church from when I moved there in 1964 until his death in 1967. Us kids would walk Mr. Taylor home several miles each Sunday after church through the beautiful woods that later became Long State Park after Mr. Taylor passed away and we would help him in his duties of cleaning up the property and my father would haul the truckloads of junk we piled up every few weeks to the Ellery Center Dump which is when I kept a couple small boxes of the stuff and carried around until I began to research it this past two years. I just kick myself now realizing that we must have thrown away several tons of paperwork and old books that were most probably filled with original mark Twain items and other significant words of men and womans gifts, books, manuscripts that today would be a treasure of Americana history. I just thank God that Mr. Taylor told me to save the little bit.

Shipping/ Handling / Coverage Information (Important to read!!)
We adhere very strictly to all of eBays Policies and Rules so please read and understand all of the Auction Houses rules prior to bidding! These policies are in place to protect bothe the sellers as well as the buyers rights and financial information, as well as keeping frauds and “rippers” from ruining our Auction experiences. The following are just some of the basic rules that apply to all of our auctions and we highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with all of them.
We ship only via U.S.P.S FLAT RATE SERVICES to assure an equitable and fair cost to everyone in the 50 United States.
We believe that everyone needs to start somewhere so we welcome new eBayers, or a buyer who may have had a bad incident (but not repeat offenders).
We practice trustworthy feedback policies for both buyers and sellers. Our expectations are simple, from sellers we expect clear scans, fast response to questions, & good packaging. From buyers we offer great scans, 7 day auctions to give you time to ask all questions& for more scans (please do these requests within the first 3 days of the auction to give us time to respond properly), we expect you to understand that auction items we sell are one of a kind and irreplaceable and therefore the sale is final unless for the obvious reasons stated clearly in our return policies. If we do discuss an issue and decide to offer a refund the buyer is responsible for the return shipping/H/IC and the item must be in the exact condition we sent it (damage due to shipping is dealt with as per return policies). Return payment will not be paid until receipt of the returned product in its original condition!!
We DO NOT SHIP TO ANY ADDRESS OUTSIDE THE 50 UNITED STATES !!! No Exceptions !!!
INFORMATION ON USPS POLICIES AND RETURNS !!!
Again we follow all of eBays policies and regulations and highly recommend that you ask all questions before bidding if you are a new eBayer !!
You cannot be “to educated…” when buying online so we offer as much information as possible to help new ebayers as well as old ones. Below are a lot of issues we have already discussed but we want to impress them upon everyone who is a small time buyer/seller in this great program !!!
eBay can not be held responsible as if they are parents so we all must be aware of policies of the shipping services as well as each other
ALL ITEMS/Documents WILL BE SHIPPED VIA U.S.P.S FLAT RATE !!! (either envelope of box depending on size !!!)
If you have any questions or want specific photos from specific views I have not posted “Please” ask all questions prior to bidding.
We aspire to provide our buyers with great service and will always ship within 3 business days from the date of the processed PayPal payment,
Not from the date of the sale
!!!
However if the sale ends on a Friday we will ship the following Monday as we are over 20 miles from a post office that provides weekend service.
If the following Monday (or Tuesday) are holidays we cannot control that and will ship the first date we can.
This is a rare situation and we try very hard to ship by the 3
rd
day “AFTER” payment is received via PayPal.
Also PayPal is the only payment plan we accept so please be aware of that!!!
YOU MUST OPEN your package if there is obvious damage to it in front of a postal employee (your postman) or you will void the USPS & our return policy !!!
OUR PERSONAL EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES RETURN POLICY FOR OUR CUSTOMERS –
(Although we list item as no returns accepted we do understand that under certain extenuating personal circumstances or an inadvertent error in shipping may occur and we as honest sellers understand this and we will always consider these issues that may arise to help out our customers.
Our basic policies are similar to which eBay already offers (for a fraudulent listing of an item not sent as described). However we also understand that due to the economy and due to some personal emergencies people simply have emergencies beyond their control and we sympathize with these situations. So under these circumstances we offer the buyer the opportunity to contact us immediately before we send the item (preferably) and explain why you need to cancel the purchase.
1) only if item is not as described in our auction. And as our clear scans show! Our auctions are for used/vintage or antique items and our scans and descriptions define any defects in the item and we happily will answer questions or supply more photos prior to bidding!!
2) Buyer must use the same S/H/IC and packaging as it was sent and item must be in the same condition.
3) Any damage due to shipping is covered however buyer must utilize the provided coverage plan (please do not just ship item back and expect us to issue a refund). MUST open obvious damaged packages in front of USPS employee to receive their coverage !!
4) Damaged items/packages must be opened within your local USPS office in front of USPS employee, as resending it to us voids out the coverage and as sellers we lose the item (as well as the sale).
That is why we try to "insist.." buyers (as we have learnt from experience) to open an obviously damaged box in front of a USPS employee for immediate verification of any potential damages that may have occurred due to improper handling of your purchase.
5) We truly package well to limit any breakage, but extenuating situations, such as damages due to shipping.
S/H/IC (we will cover the extra cost out of our sales price to make sure the item is fully covered)!!! PLEASE remember that the 3 day shipping guarantee is from the time and date of your PayPal payment and not from the Date of the sale!!!!! We cannot guarantee a shipping date “until...” the full payment has been processed!!!
Mahalo nui loa for doing business with our small ohana and we hope you are pleased with your purchase as we have held these items since my early childhood and they are as dear to my heart as I hope they become to your family. Have a wonderful day and enjoy your eBay experience...... Rev. Miller
