    Description

    HENRY D. MOORE
    (1817-1887) He was a Whig member of the
    U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania.
    He was a delegate to the 1860 Republican National
    Convention. He was elected State treasurer during
    Governor Curtin's administration and served from
    1861-63 and 1864-65. He was appointed collector
    of the port of Philadelphia on March 30, 1869, and
    served until March 26, 1871, when he resigned.
    Autograph letter signed, Pittsburgh, PA,
    November 17, 1866, on a 5 x 7-1/4 sheet, declining
    an invitation, mild toning and folds, very good.
