Rattan Wicker Hamper with a Clam Shell style lid

This is an extremely well made wicker hamper, I’m not sure if it’s rattan or wicker. From my limited research I find that rattan usually refers to the type of wood (there are over 600 varieties that I see) and wicker can actually be both the process of weaving & the material (such as bamboo, reeds & rattan itself, etc). However, with this hamper I’m leaning towards a rattan of some kind, but I’m not sure. It has a burlap tag on the left handle that states it was made in Poland.
It’s outside measurements are 26-1/2” high x 22-1/2” wide; from front to back across the clam shell style top it’s 18-5/8”; it has an inside depth of 25”. This hamper comes from my 105 year old aunt's estate, I took care of her for her last 35 years & I've had it 10 years, so I can account for the last 45 or so years. But the actual age is unknown. It’s in average to very good condition. It does have a couple of darker character marks on the lid. Please see the photo’s to help with the description.
